Silent Gardens
Garden of love
I went to the garden of love
And saw what I never had seen:
A chapel was built in the midst,
Where I used to play on the green.
And the gates of this chapel were shut,
And ´Thou shalt not` writ over the door;
So I turn´d to the garden of love
That so many sweet flowers bore;
And I saw it was filled with graves,
And tomb-stones where flowers should be;
And priests in black gowns were walking their rounds,
And binding with briars my joys & desires.
( Lyric from William Blake )
By the last rays of the evening sun
I´m waiting for the silence to come
For this bitter sweet kiss of loneliness
Away from all misery and distress
Surrounded by the four great winds
Here in my silent garden
without fear, without sins
And as the rain is running down my face
I wish to stay till the end of days
The moon, the mountains and the sea I will adore
Till the day the sun won´t rise anymore
By the gently flowing river
I´m sitting alone and start to shiver
In the shallow water the reflecting stars
A silent healing for my inner wars
Surrounded by the misterious sound of the night
Here in my silent garden
without dispair, without fright
And as the rain is running down my face
I wish to stay till the end of days
The moon, the mountains and the sea I will adore
Till the day the sun won´t rise anymore
By the mountains icy winds
I´d like to fly and spread my wings
Up here where the winds are born
So peaceful and god forlorn
Surrounded by the wind I seek salvation
Here in my silent garden
my refuge of consolation
